A Passion Project with a Purpose...
Vixen Photo Studio, Amylee Artistry (& Lashily) and Hi Flying Dress Hawaii partnered to create the Okanagan Goddess Calendar featuring local women & business owners with proceeds going to the Archway Society’s Safe Shelter Program (The Women’s Transition House).
WHY? In the wake of the pandemic shutdowns and cancelled fundraisers for many local charities including Archway Society, Ashley Duggan, owner and professional photographer of Vixen Photo Studio, decided to find a unique way to raise funds.
“I have worked with Archway Society for several years and donated to their Little Black Dress event in the past, but due to covid the event was postponed. So, I decided there must be a way to raise funds and support them without hosting an event. The idea for the calendar came from the desire to create something beautiful amidst all the chaos of the last 2 years. Since Vixen Photo Studio focuses on helping women embrace their bodies and appreciate their beauty through photography, I felt like a calendar featuring local women portrayed as goddesses and warriors was the perfect way to showcase women’s strength & resilience and a suiting way to honour the work they do with Safe Shelter - Transition House program; which supports women and their children seeking safety from domestic violence and abuse.”
