I've never done a boudoir session/photoshoot & I'm sooooo nervous.  Do I have to know how to pose/know what to do?

Don't worry!  Most women I work with have never done a boudoir session.  It's totally normal to be nervous, but I promise to guide you through the entire experience.  I will show you each pose, coach you on expressions and promise to have you feeling comfortable in no time.

I don't have the perfect "model body" and I'm not 22.  Can I still do a boudoir session?

YES!!!  Absolutely!  Whether you are 22 or 70, or somewhere in between, you can do this!  Size, shape and age are just numbers.  Vixen Photo Studio is for women ALL who want to love their bodies, feel beautiful in their own skin and embrace their inner Vixen.

When should I book my session?

I usually suggest booking your session at least 4-6 weeks in advance of when you want your album or finished images.  That way you have time to enjoy your session, select your images and order albums or prints.

When do I get to see my session images?

We usually set your private portrait viewing session for 1-2 weeks after your session.  

You can opt for a Rush Service, if you find you have an upcoming birthday/anniversary/special occasion, and you can request a next-day viewing for $75.

I need help with my makeup and hair styling...

Awesome, Vixen's team of all-female, expert stylists are here for you!  You can add professional hair and makeup with false lashes to any package.  You will leave the styling chair feeling like a complete goddess!

Do you retouch things like cellulite and blemishes?

I believe that every woman is beautiful and even though most of us have some cellulite and a blemish or two, we don't really want to see them in our portraits.  So YES, your images will be beautifully retouched to remove any of those distractions.

I have an area of my body I'm not totally in love with.  How do I hide it?

You are not alone, most women have an area of their body that they feel self conscious of.  Some women want to hide their tummies, wish they have thinner legs or a fuller bust.  But it's not really about hiding things, it's about highlighting the features you do love!  

 

I use fabulous lighting and poses to accentuate and draw attention to your favourite features.   As well, I love helping you choose lingerie that will make you feel fabulous in front of the camera and showcase your "best assets"!

Do you provide the outfits or do I bring my own?

As each woman is her own unique goddess with her own style and shape, outfits aren't provided.  By bringing your own outfits & accessories, you get to show off your own unique style and your images are truly a reflection of you.  

​

However, once you book your session, I do offer outfit consultations and suggestions so you can pick outfits what will flatter your body and accentuate your favourite features.  AND you can also download Vixen's Lingerie & Boudoir Handbook which includes how to figure our your body type, the perfect lingerie for you and a boudoir session checklist!

Can I do some nude or implied nude photos?

Yes, totally!  The level of nudity is totally up to you.  And if you aren't sure you want to do nudes, but you think you might be brave enough, I  suggest we start your session with the outfit you feel most comfortable in and then work our way to the nude or implied nude ones.   **It's just you and I in studio together, so I promise, even if you are nervous, I will make sure you feel comfortable and safe.

Do you use natural light or studio lighting?

I use both natural and studio lighting.  I believe that I have to be prepared for every kind of light to ensure your portraits are perfection.  Sometimes the daylight isn't flattering, it's a super low light day or if you've booked an evening session, there is no natural light.  So by offering both professional studio lighting and natural light for portraits, you will always get magazine quality images.  In addition, I am able to offer a wide range of looks to your images by using both lighting techniques.

Do you have different photo sets at the studio?

You bet I do!  I love creativity and variety in my imagery.   You are unique and your portraits should be too!

• Outdoor studio area for outdoor boudoir portraits (the studio is set on 10 acres in Coldstream)

I am always updating and creating new sets to keep things super fun and sexy at the studio.

What is included in a photoshoot with Vixen?

Sessions with Vixen start at $425 + gst and include:

• A welcome cocktail

• Time for 2-5+ outfits (depending which package you chose)

• Professional lighting

• Pose coaching

• In-person portrait viewing

• 10-20 retouched digital images

• ​Hair, makeup & lashes can be added to any session

Can I order an album or prints?

Yes.  You will be able to view all the album and print options at your private portrait viewing session.

Can I do outdoor boudoir/bikini portraits or go on location?

Absolutely!  Our 2 most popular packages offer the option of on location and/or outdoor photos.  So let's get creative!

I don't want my images shared/posted, is that an option?

Of course!  I ALWAYS ask permission and never share your images without consent and a signed model release.  My only goal is for you to have a fabulous time and LOVE your images, so there is no pressure to share if you aren't comfortable.
